About this site

Even though web site is “under construction”, the Sky Tonight page is active and current!  Check it out!

The mission of this site is to provide local advice and information to residents and visitors in regard to backyard stargazing opportunities.

Mariposa County is generally free of a lot of light pollution, and with the dry summer air sometimes the sky is spectacular. The hills can be a hindrance, but there are lots of publicly accessible locations where the view is very broad.
